Job Title: Senior Accountant

Reports to Corporate Controller

Education: BA/BS Degree or equivalent

Experience: 5+ years related experience

Location: Position based in Los Gatos but will require frequent travel to Moss Landing (approximately one day a week).

Scope: Responsible for all general accounting for Moss Landing Cement Company (a Special Purpose Entity of Calera Corporation).

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting preferred
• Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with financial and operational analysis, cost accounting, fixed assets and project accounting as well as general accounting.
• Strong accounting and analytical skills
• Diligent, self motivated and detail oriented
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in use of accounting software (ERP system, Excel, Word)
• Experience with Quickbooks helpful.

Responsibilities:
• Enter monthly journal entries; prepare financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statement analysis.
• Prepare and analyze CIP project costs; track percentage of completion; prepare project cost reports.
• Track materials, direct labor, operating overhead and other production costs.
• Work with MLCC purchasing and receiving functions to ensure accuracy and timeliness of processing.
• Enter accounts payable into the accounting system and prepare weekly check runs.
• Establish and maintain internal accounting control procedures.
• Prepare forecasts, budgets, and other non-routine analyses and financial reports.
• Prepare routine tax filings – property taxes, sales & use tax, etc.
• Maintain fixed asset system including tagging of all fixed assets/equipment upon receipt at the plant.
