Scope
To work with Materials Development group on activities related to site specific product development and interface with Process Chemistry and Process Engineering.
Minimum Requirements
• B.S. with 2+ years of experience or M.S (research/industrial masters or M.S. with 1+ years experience)
o Disciplines: Materials Science or Materials Engineering (Chemistry, Applied Physics, Geology or Chemical Engineering with a materials emphasis okay as well). We might also consider a very strong bachelors candidate with extensive undergraduate research experience.
• Hands on cement/concrete experience
• Hands on lab experience
• Strong materials characterization and analytical skills
o Lab experience with some subset of the following techniques: XRD, XRF, SEM, FT-IR, Raman, Calorimetry.
• Diligent, self motivated, detail oriented, and good troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience with JMP, SASS, Matlab or other statistical analysis and data representation software a plus but not required
Responsibilities:
• Immediate Responsibilities: Compiling site-specific materials and product characterization data, summarizing, and presenting information to assist in the planning of future site-specific studies to feed into demonstration scale parameters for Materials and Process Development.
• Will assist with material evaluation for product development efforts, with the particular focus on site-specific material evaluation for materials properties in product.
• Collect and analyze materials data, with the emphasis on data analysis and synthesis of results
• Will provide data summaries as written and oral reports to Materials and Process Chemistry groups.
• Will be involved in experimental evaluation and design under the guidance of Sr. Scientists.
