Scope
Direct the on-site Construction Managers at the Calera construction sites world-wide. Provide on-site construction management and back-up the VP-Development Engineering and Construction. Previous work in start-up environment preferred.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years engineering or construction management experience
• Strong management and leadership skills
• Ability to travel world-wide
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in use of construction management tools (Scheduling tools such as Primavera and Microsoft Project, Cost Engineering tools such as Excel, Word)
• Experience with Contract negotiations, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) firms, union and non-union labor management and utility power plant operations.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direction for Calera’s on-site construction management teams (Construction Manager, Construction Engineer, construction management staff and all on-site business management functions).
• Perform on-site Construction Manager role as needed, directing the on-site day to day contractor construction activities (This will be initial assignment until multiple sites are staffed with Construction managers).
• Backup the VP-Development Engineering and Construction.
• Negotiate Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts.
• Liaison between Calera’s Process Engineering group and EPC firms to insure consistency of detailed design engineering for construction.
• Review project and equipment specifications and prepare bid packages for EPC services, review and submit bid award documentation.
• Assist in determining site selection technical qualifications, perform reviews of potential host site technical characteristics.
