Scope
Member of process engineering team specializing in process design and operations support for demo and commercial scale facilities.
Minimum Requirements
• BS/MS Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• 5-15 years relevant technical experience
• Significant experience in one of the following areas: contact engineering/operations support, process design, or detailed mechanical design.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: solid-liquid separation, solids handling (including solids transport, milling, extruding), or drying.
• Strong process design/equipment specification skills.
• Experience in one or more of the following preferred: coal combustion, power generation, or dewatering.
• Independent worker who requires minimal direction.
• Able to adapt to fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Develop design basis memoranda and other process design documents for review by senior management.
• Develop detailed design/process design specifications for new equipment including piping and instrumentation diagrams, and equipment specification sheets.
• Support construction activities for new plants including equipment layout, process piping, development of start-up and shutdown procedures, and process shakedown.
• Support operations activities at existing plants including testing new process chemistries, bringing on new equipment, developing instrumentation and controls guidelines, and closing heat and material balances.
• Assist in procurement activities including the search for lowest cost, rapid timeline alternatives.
• Write work orders outlining experimental protocols for review by senior management.
• Lead and participate in safety and environmental reviews.
