Job Title: Junior Engineer
Department: Electrochemical Operations
Reports to: Director of Electrochemical Operations
Location: Moss Landing, CA
Scope
Moss Landing Cement Company is seeking a hands-on Junior Engineer who will have design, procurement, analysis, and some construction management responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Draft designs for electrochemical plant and related infrastructure and components
• Develop process flows and work with engineering team to do bottleneck analysis
• Produce P&IDs and cut-sheets
• Conduct engineering optimization especially for scale-up
• Conduct economic optimization of engineering components
• Complete equipment specification and procurement
• Oversee equipment installation
• Work with vendors and contractors on timely installation of equipment and construction
• Work to deadlines
• Provide detailed reports and analysis on work
• Add to the safety culture at Calera
• Produce standard operating procedures and other technical instructions
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering and Design preferred)
• Minimum 1 year experience
• Strong design and analytical skills
• Diligent, self motivated and detail oriented
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in use of design software
• Experience in electrochemical engineering a bonus
Moss Landing Cement Company (MLCC) was founded in May 2008 to develop new cement processing methods that are friendly to our environment. We believe that our new cement will become the construction material of choice in the near future and will have a dramatic impact in restoring our environment.
