Job Title: Patent Agent

Education: BA/BS Degree or equivalent

Experience: 5+ years related experience

Scope
Patent agent, working independently to draft and prosecute patent applications, both US and foreign. Previous work in law firm preferred.

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years patent drafting and prosecution experience
• Experience drafting at least 15-20 complete patent applications (more than 40 preferred but not required)
• Experience responding to a variety of US and foreign Office Actions
• Familiar with US and foreign patent prosecution requirements
• Diligent, self motivated and detail oriented
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience on Delphion or similar database preferred but not required

Responsibilities:

• Track segment of Research and Development group for patentable ideas.
• Draft complete applications for US and foreign filing.
• Prosecute US and foreign applications.
• Perform freedom to operate searches.
• Perform noninfringement and invalidity analyses of third party patents.
• Assist in preparation of assignments, information disclosure statements, and the like.
• Assist in inventorship determinations.
